Emmanuel Forbes Jr. is blossoming before the Los Angeles Rams' eyes.

The former first-round pick by the Washington Commanders looked every bit the lockdown cornerback he was drafted to be in 2023 after absolutely suffocating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' receivers in Week 12. Forbes Jr. had five pass breakups, one interception and didn't allow a reception on seven targets.

That personal stat sheet was so good, it broke a four-year record. Forbes Jr. is the first cornerback since Week 12 of 2022 to not allow a reception on seven or more targets, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. What an incredible feat for a player who was cast off from his old team a season ago.

This is what general manager Les Snead, head coach Sean McVay and defensive coordinator Chris Shula saw in Forbes Jr. when they added him to the roster midway through the 2024 season. And now that he's had a full offseason and more than half of a season to acclimate, Forbes Jr. looks like a certified stud at cornerback.

He has three interceptions this season, which doubled his career total before the 2025 season. Forbes Jr.'s 13 defended passes is also a career-best, and he still has six more games to play.

While the entire Rams defense has been playing lights out this season, Forbes Jr. is perhaps one of the biggest bright spots, given the narrative around him up until this point in his career. He is a huge part of the Rams' secondary in 2025, and could become a staple of the defense for the future if the Rams decide to keep him around long-term.
