With the New York Jets' historical woes, it would be safe to assume they're looking to target a rookie quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft.

But thanks to a recent run of success, winning three of their last five games, the Jets find themselves out of the top five and out of position for one of the class's top signal callers.

With two quarterbacks off the board by the time they're on the clock, which direction should New York go at No. 7 overall?

Jets predicted to select Arizona State WR Jordan Tyson No. 7 Overall

In The Athletic's latest mock draft, Dane Brugler has the Jets selecting Arizona State wide receiver Jordan Tyson seventh overall to bolster their offense.

"Who will be quarterbacking the Jets in 2026? General manager Darren Mougey has plenty of draft capital to move up for a QB, but it also wouldn’t be surprising to see New York continue to build up its roster, go with a bridge option under center and target a 2027 prospect," wrote Brugler.

"Durability concerns are a part of his evaluation, but Tyson reminds me of prime Stefon Diggs with his ability to create space and win at the catch point."

With Fernando Mendoza and Dante Moore coming off the board with the first two picks, the Jets stand pat and add to their relatively pedestrian wide receiver room.

Garrett Wilson is a bona fide star, but John Metchie and Adonai Mitchell are youngsters with a lot to prove. Adding Tyson to the mix would create an awesome receiving room for any quarterback to work with.

Armed with three first-round picks in 2027, New York can afford to kick the can down the road in their search for a franchise quarterback.
