Taylor Sheridan may be the king of Paramount (for now), but his powers do not stretch to the small town of South Park. Landman returned last weekend with a strong debut, yet it still premiered only in second place on Paramount+’s U.S. charts, and it wasn't the only Sheridan show that suffered. That’s because South Park is absolutely killing everything in its path. As per FlixPatrol, the long-running animated juggernaut is in the Top 3 in more than 25 countries and currently holds the #1 spot in the United States, ahead of every other show on the platform — including Sheridan’s biggest hits, Yellowstone Tulsa King and Mayor of Kingstown. Season 28 premiered on October 15, and one of its most recent episodes — a Halloween special — was a classic reminder of why it remains popular.
Season 28, Episode 2, titled “The Woman in the Hat,” has exploded online and on Paramount+. The show once again takes a shot at the White House, this time with Donald Trump overseeing the reconstruction of the East Wing. His stated reason for this is simple: He promised Satan that the new space would be a nursery for their love child, but of course, he just wants a new room to party in.
Meanwhile, the White House is haunted by the ghost of Melania Trump and FCC chairman Brendan Carr. With the political world in recent chaos, it’s no surprise that South Park’s decision to release a Halloween episode targeting Trump immediately attracted massive buzz. This isn’t the first time the show has gone there, either.
Why Does Donald Trump Dislike 'South Park'?
Well, Season 27 kicked off with an episode that saw Trump — with a micropenis — in a romantic relationship with Satan, and the episode created such an uproar that the White House released an official statement, calling South Park “a fourth-rate show hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention.”
Naturally, that's the kind of attention that South Park craves and it didn’t slow the creators down one bit. Instead, they’ve doubled down — and the viewership surge proves audiences are absolutely here for the chaos. It turns out, you can arm as many cowboys as you like, they're no match for four foul-mouthed kids from Colorado.
South Park, Tulsa King, Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown and Landman are both streaming now on Paramount+.
