A Georgia football defensive back who started earlier this season plans to enter the transfer portal.

Cornerback Daniel Harris posted on his Instagram account on Sunday, Nov. 30, about the move.

The junior from Miami started four games, including the SEC Championship game last season and the first three this season until losing the job after Georgia's 44-41 loss at Tennessee.

Harris did not play in Georgia's 16-9 win against Georgia Tech Friday.

Harris has seven tackles in eight games this season, but has played limited defensive snaps since moving to a reserve role. He had 25 snaps against Mississippi State and 11 against Charlotte, according to Pro Football Focus.

He gave up a long touchdown pass in the loss to Tennessee and allowed catches on 6 of 9 targets this season, per PFF.

Harris made off field news in September 2024 when he was arrested for reckless driving two days before the SEC opener at Kentucky.

Georgia plays Saturday against Alabama in the SEC Championship game.
