Pittsburgh quarterback Mason Heintschel limped to the locker room shortly before halftime against No. 15 Miami with an injury.
The freshman was sacked by Bryce Fitzgerald with less than a minute to go in the second quarter of their Week 14 game. The Hurricanes defender landed on Heintschel's right ankle, and the QB limped off the field on his own. He went into the medical tent, then was helped to the locker room.

Mason Heintschel injury: How it happened
With 39 second remaining in the second quarter, defensive back Bryce Fitzgerald came on a blitz and sacked Heintschel, landing on his right ankle and either twisting or hyperextending something in the QB's lower leg. Heintschel grabbed at his leg and walked off the field with a noticeable limp. He walked first to the medical tent, then quickly went to the locker room with the game fast approaching halftime.
