ATTACK OF THE KNULLIFIED! THE HEROES OF 2099 are on the run from the ABYSSAL WARRIORS, enemies pulled from across reality and infected by KNULL with SYMBIOTE seeds! In a war of magic and telekinesis will HOUSE OF M SCARLET WITCH defeat post-DARK PHOENIX JEAN GREY?! As the stakes rise, all hope rests on the SPIDER-MEN of 2099 and 3099... not to mention, MEPHISTO and his former herald... SILVER SURFER 2099!
While Galactus was already ridiculously powerful, capable of destroying entire planets in seconds, Abyssus is even more terrifying, with multiversal reach. The cover shows him commanding his "Abyssal Warriors," including Red Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Weapon Omega and Spider-Girl - dark soldiers plucked from throughout the multiverse.
Edwin Galmon's variant cover for The End 2099 #1 hints that instead of planets, Abyssus will consume the Sun itself - the only weapon that previously managed to hurt Knull.
Abyssus Will Take on Mephisto in the Ultimate Villain Clash
new galactus abyssus vs mephisto art-1
Last year, Conquest 2099 concluded with the tease that Galactus would soon attack the newly reborn Earth-2099. Recently, Marvel confirmed that The End 2099 will indeed introduce a new version of Galactus, merged with Knull. The resulting monstrosity will encounter Mephisto, beginning a battle between the two that will play out between their respective armies - the heroes of Earth-2099 vs Abyssus' Abyssal Warriors.
marvel heroes clash at the will of new galactus abyssus and knull
While the heroes of the far future fight for their entire reality, Abyssus will seemingly summon thralls from across the multiverse and time itself. House of M's Scarlet Witch, Age of Apocalypse's Wolverine and MC2's Spider-Girl will fight on Abyssus' side, as the cosmic villain extends symbiotic control over an army big enough to pillage a world.
The Galactus/Knull Power Combo Is Beyond Comprehension
Galactus and Knull both started out as vital parts of the cosmic order. But while Galactus' hunger keeps him in line gathering cosmic energy, Knull fled his responsibilities as the King in Black, attempting to erase reality and return it to the cosmic void. Able to reach across time, space and reality, Knull boasts total control over primordial darkness and is all but unkillable.
Combine that staggering power with the cosmic might of Galactus - a being of infinite energy who can alter matter on the molecular level and even exist in multiple places at once - and Abyssus is a threat worthy of destroying an entire universe. Whether the new Galactus will succeed in that mission or not will depend on the heroes of 2099 and their dark patron Mephisto.
The End 2099 begins December 10 from Marvel Comics, with issue #3 coming February 25.
