More cameos from Supernatural actors have been confirmed for The Boys season 5 after Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins' appearances were announced. The Boys season 5 is expanding its core cast with familiar faces from Supernatural, also created by Eric Kripke. Both Padalecki, who played Sam Winchester, and Collins, who portrayed Castiel, have been announced in undisclosed roles.
Speaking at The Boys panel at Fan Expo San Francisco, moderated by ScreenRant's Joe Deckelmeier, series star Karl Urban revealed more cameos from Supernatural will be featured in season 5. The Billy Butcher actor expressed how there will be "a few great cameos" in the final season, but doesn't give any hints as to which familiar faces might show up:
Karl Urban: We can say, obviously, Jensen [Ackles] it was great to have him back. And it was fun to sort of get the opportunity to have the Supernatural guys sort of roll through and do their thing. And there's going to be a few great cameos that I don't even think have been announced yet. So yeah, it was fun.
You know, we're all very grateful, and I think [Eric] Kripke is, he's a wonderful collaborator to work with. And if he likes working with you, then he will go out of his way to find an opportunity to work with you again. And I guess, you know, we all feel part of that big family.
There have been multiple Supernatural actors in The Boys since the series began. The most prominent of these include Jensen Ackles, who plays Soldier Boy, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who stars as Joe Kessler. In Supernatural, the pair played Dean Winchester and his father, John, respectively. Other familiar actors include Nathan Mitchell (Black Noir) and Christian Keyes (Nathan Franklin).
While Urban didn't reveal who else might show up in season 5, there will be plenty of opportunities for familiar faces to appear. The Boys season 4 ended with everyone on the titular team captured by Vought, save for Starlight and A-Train. In the meantime, Supe-led martial law has been declared, with Homelander taking key power in the US government.

Because Supes are now in greater power than they've ever been, season 5 has a chance to introduce more of them as the team tries getting back together to take down Homelander for good. There's also an opportunity to add more human characters as well, considering the sharp divide that will likely form as the last episodes unfold.
Although it's unclear where Padalecki and Collins' characters will fall, their appearances seem to be just the start. Although this won't be the swan song of the franchise, considering The Boys: Mexico and the upcoming Vought Rising, it seems like Kripke's use of Supernatrual actors will be used to strengthen the sendoff of the original show.
With Urban confirming more cameos to come, The Boys season 5 sounds like it'll be bringing some familiar faces from Kripke's other work back. Although there's no telling how many Supernatural cameos there will be, the show has ample opportunity to include plenty in its story. Just how important everyone will be to the overarching plot, though, remains to be seen.
The Boys season 5 arrives on Prime Video in 2026.
