J.J. McCarthy had another brutal game on Sunday, completing 12 of 19 passes for only 87 yards in the Minnesota Vikings' 23-6 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Two of his throws were intercepted, putting him in a category with one of the worst quarterback busts in Vikings history.
Before Sunday's game at Lambeau Field, only Christian Ponder had thrown two or more interceptions in three consecutive games for the Vikings over the last 30 years. That stretch came in Weeks 5 through 7 of the 2012 season, when Ponder threw exactly two picks in each game. Interestingly, the Vikings went 2-1 in those games.
McCarthy likely won't have a chance to extend his streak next Sunday when the Vikings play the Seattle Seahawks. Kevin O'Connell told reporters on Monday that McCarthy is in the concussion protocol, meaning his status for Sunday is in jeopardy.
