Ohio State coach Ryan Day said injured wide receivers Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate are working hard to return against archrival Michigan on Nov. 29.
“They’re doing everything they can to play in the game,” Day said during his weekly news conference on Nov. 25.

Both sat out last week’s win over Rutgers, watching from the home sideline at Ohio Stadium while in jackets and sweat pants.
Smith has appeared the closet to a potential return. Smith played nearly two dozen snaps only the previous week against UCLA and sounded optimistic while appearing on a podcast with safety Caleb Downs.
In a clip previewing their episode released on Nov. 24, Smith said he was "feeling good" and "should be good to go" against the Wolverines.
Tate has been out for a longer stretch of time. It was at Purdue on Nov. 8 when Day said Tate suffered some sort of an injury setback while warming up before kickoff. The Buckeyes held him out as a result, the first of three games he has missed this month.

Smith has 69 receptions for 902 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, and Tate has caught 39 passes for 711 yards and seven touchdowns.
