Another week, another loss for the Florida Gators on the college football field.

This week, the Tennessee Volunteers came, saw and conquered the Orange and Blue in the Swamp with a 31-11 whipping that included an explosive first half that put things out of reach early. Having lost four in a row now — all since Billy Napier was excused from his head coaching duties — the program is in danger of reaching a nadir unseen in several decades.

Predictably, Florida has fallen in the secondary rankings, as well as many of the objective computer models. From the former category, USA TODAY Sports' rerank after Week 13's action saw the Gators fall four more spots to No. 83 — nestled between the No. 82 Washington State Cougars and No. 84 Temple Owls.

The final opponent of the 2025 regular-season schedule, the Florida State Seminoles, fell 11 spots to No. 78 — just five places ahead of their in-state rivals.

SEC teams in USA TODAY Sports rerank after Week 13

The Southeastern Conference is represented by eight teams in the top 25 — down one from last week — while keeping five among the top 10. The Texas A&M Aggies lead the way at No. 3, followed by the No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs in the top five; the seventh-ranked Ole Miss Rebels trail behind along with the eighth-ranked Oklahoma Sooners and ninth-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide to round out the schools in the top 10.

The Vanderbilt Commodores (No. 12), Texas Longhorns (No. 15) and Tennessee (No. 17) wrap up the top 25.

The rest of the SEC rerankings are as follows: Missouri Tigers (No. 31), LSU Tigers (No. 50), Mississippi State Bulldogs (No. 65), Kentucky Wildcats (No. 68), Auburn Tigers (No. 73), South Carolina Gamecocks (No. 80), Florida (No. 83) and Arkansas Razorbacks (No. 102).

Florida started the year just inside the top 25, nearly 10 spots below its preseason ranking in either major poll.

A 55-0 win over Long Island University in Week 1 didn't sway the USA TODAY Sports re-rankers. The Gators climbed just one spot to No. 24 with a prove-it game against South Florida ahead. When USF upset Florida in Week 2, USA TODAY Sports dropped the Orange and Blue 16 places to No. 40.

Following another loss, to LSU, Florida dropped to No. 49 overall. After loss No. 3 to Miami, the Gators fell 15 spots to No. 64. Florida started its climb back up the rankings in Week 5, while on bye, albeit a one-spot ascent, but an upset victory over the Texas Longhorns sent the Gators up to No. 56 in the country.

Losing to Texas A&M in Week 8 led to an eight-spot drop, but the bye week brought a one-spot climb. Florida fell to No. 60 in Week 10 and dropped even further to No. 73 two weeks ago before falling again to No. 79 last week.
