At long last, former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders got his chance to play for the Cleveland Browns on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, and he made the most of his opportunity. Now, despite former starting QB Dillon Gabriel being cleared from concussion protocol and able to play, the Browns are sticking with Sanders.

According to head coach Kevin Stefanski, Sanders showed enough against the Raiders to get the nod for another week. Sanders completed 11-of-20 passes for 209 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

“I thought communication was really good throughout the day with him,” Stefanski said. “He has the mentality that he will make the adjustments to the speed of the game to make those improvements.”

With another full week to prepare as the starter, Sanders will get a chance to take a strong hold of the job this coming week against the San Francisco 49ers. If he plays well again, it may be his job for the rest of the season, with just five games left on the schedule.
