The future of Frozen 3 and Frozen 4 looks decidedly promising thanks to the latest update about the films, and the deals that have reportedly been made with some of the series' cast regarding these installments. As one of the highest-grossing animated movie series of all time, it's no surprise that there are plans for the franchise to continue with further sequels, especially since Frozen 2's box office outgrossed the original 2013 film.

With the first two Frozen films having managed to garner major commercial and critical success, these films have set a high bar for future installments. That said, the latest news about Frozen 3 and Frozen 4 suggest the films are on the right track, and that the focus is on making sure these sequels can follow up on what made the original movies a success.

Frozen 3 & 4's Main Cast Contracts Sets The Franchise Up To Continue One Of Its Biggest Successes

The Wrap has reported that Frozen series cast members Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, and Josh Gad - who play Anna, Elsa, and Olaf the snowman respectively - have signed deals worth $60 million each for their upcoming roles in Frozen 3 and Frozen 4. This is notable in no small part because they're some of the highest sums actors have been paid for animated projects to date, but also because it confirms those involved in said projects are aware of what will help cement their successes.

Ensuring these three major characters continue to have the same actors throughout the next chapters of their story - and thus that the performances that helped make the original Frozen and its sequel so popular are retained in these later instalments - is crucial to ensuring both that these sequels work as well as the originals, and that the series as a whole feels consistent throughout its run.

Similarly, ensuring said actors receive deals that reflect their roles in creating the $1B+ successes of both the thus-far released Frozen movies makes sense on several levels, and should help ensure the actors in question bring their A-game to these upcoming installments, especially taking into account the experience they've gained playing their respective characters thanks to these prior releases.

Frozen 3 & 4's Cast Deals Ensure The Franchise Doesn't Suffer From A Complicated Possible Fate

Broadly speaking, having actors return for various sequels in a series usually aligns with paying said actors more for the role - a detail that has made it not entirely uncommon for some sequels to either not happen, or to sometimes go as far as to recast lead roles in order to draft new contracts with different actors instead, though this has historically been a somewhat divisive call when made for a series.

Frozen's sequels having locked in Bell, Menzel, and Gad is thus all the more significant, since these deals appear to reflect a desire to ensure actors can continue in the roles they made so successful in the first place, and to ensure that fans of the franchise can experience these next releases as natural extensions of the world and its story with this core cast still in place.
