After dominating the Arkansas Razorbacks behind a record game from Arch Manning, the Texas Longhorns have jumped two spots in the newest US LBM Coaches Poll. UT rises from No. 18 to No. 16 in the latest ranking.
Texas passes USC and Georgia Tech, but losers on Saturday. The entire top eleven remained the same with Ohio State continuing to lead the pack at No. 1. Indiana, Texas A&M, Georgia and Oregon fill out the rest of the top five.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Longhorns played their best game offensively of the season. Manning was the star, going 18 of 30 for 389 with four passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown and one touchdown reception. Manning becomes the first QB in UT history to score all three ways.
Texas had to win to keep its (very) slim college football playoff chances alive.
The SEC lands eight teams in this week's Top 25. The Big Ten has five ranked teams. The ACC has five teams in the ranking, while the Big 12 fields three. There are three Group of Five teams ranked, including North Texas at No. 22.
