The Las Vegas Raiders are having one of the most disappointing seasons in a while. While the team wasn’t expected to contend, they were expected to compete. The addition of Pete Caroll was supposed to improve the product on the field, but has led to a point differential of minus 98.
It led many in the fanbase to want Carroll fired after the season. While it could be a possibility given his age, it is not an issue the Raider head coach is considering before Week 12. He is attempting to stay positive after such an ugly start to the season.
“I honestly don’t know any other way to do it, and every day, to me, is the day that I’ve gotto prove it to these guys that I’m on it and in it and calling on them to be there to compete in battle. So, Iwould tell you that I’ve never been 2-8 as a head coach, so this is new. Some of that’s new, and I think Icoach a lot better when we’re winning than I do when we’re not, but it’s the everyday challenge of meetingthe expectations of what you signed up for, and I got no problem with doing that.“
Interestingly, Carroll feels like it affects his coaching. With him never being in this position before, it could be weighing on his ability to make sure all the ducks are in a row. Hopefully, it could lead to a win against a team struggling with their future, as well as the Browns in town this week.
