Samsung and Apple claim to make watches that can go the distance with their respective Ultra models. But in reality, you're far from getting the 'ultra' experience in every respect when compared to top-end products from Garmin. If you're ready to jump to something new, we highly recommend taking a look at the Garmin Epix Pro (Gen 2) Sapphire Edition.
We've reviewed this watch and found it to be worth every single penny. Of course, that's saying a lot considering that this smartwatch retails for $1,100. Hold on though, before you go running off, we have good news. You won't have to pay anywhere close to that price thanks to a steep discount from Amazon.
A price you can't ignore
Right now, ahead of Black Friday, the Garmin Epix Pro (Gen 2) Sapphire Edition can be had for $600 less, coming in at $500. It's a colossal discount that brings it down to its lowest price to date. Do we think this is going to get any cheaper for Black Friday? No, absolutely not. So, there's no reason to hold out to see whether it's going to see an even steeper price drop.
It won't let you down
Although tracking and presenting your metrics is one part, the Epix Pro (Gen 2) Sapphire Edition really excels by providing you with ways to improve your results and achieve your fitness goals. And it does all of this by understanding your day in total, factoring in physical activities, sleep quality, stress levels, and more.
And if you're thinking about going off the grid, the watch has you covered with impressive and accurate location tracking. There's even outdoor maps that are stored on the watch, allowing you to navigate the busy city streets, or skillfully climb the more serene hiking trails in your area. There's even maps for ski resorts and golf courses if that's more of your thing.
It's more of a tool that you have on your wrist
Did we mention that this watch also has a built-in LED flashlight? Sleep coach, nap detection, jet lag advisor — the list really does go on and on. And we haven't even begun to talk about how this watch can keep you connected, relaying notifications and calls from your phone.
You can also download your favorite music onto the watch, track your stocks, and even use Garmin Pay at supported checkout terminals. The Garmin Connect IQ Store will allow you to expand the watch's capabilities with more apps and additional watch faces.
It's an impressive watch to say the very least, and we really did love it in our review. However, it's a pricey piece of hardware, but we think it really pays for itself over time. Now that you can get it for half off, it's definitely worth picking up. As we said before, we're pretty confident that you be disappointed.
