It has been a rough first season for Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy. Since his return from an ankle injury, he’s thrown four touchdowns and rushed for another, while throwing five interceptions through three games. If you add in his first two starts before his injury, he has thrown eight interceptions and taken 15 sacks in five games. It’s made it difficult to feel good about the fantasy pieces around him, even superstar Justin Jefferson. You’re still starting Jefferson because he’s just that good and will always be the uncontested top target on the team, but can you start their WR2 Jordan Addison this week against the Packers?
Below, we’ll go over Jordan Addison’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 12.

His WR31 finish was a game in which he scored a touchdown late against the Bears last week on his second and final reception. The good news is that he saw seven targets and 11 the previous week. The bad news is that he’s only caught five of those for 55 yards and a touchdown in those games.
This week the Vikings get a tougher matchup than the Bears, as the Packers have been above average defensively against the pass. Of course, the trouble with sitting Addison is that he is actually good at football and he will get targets, even if they aren’t always that accurate. It isn’t a situation I love, but I’d find it tough to bench him unless I was flush with good receiver matchups.
