College football rankings after Week 13: Updated Coaches Poll, AP Top 25 for Big Ten

All things considered, Week 13 of the college football season went as expected in the Big Ten.

The only piece of drama that took place in the Big Ten happened at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon when No. 5 Oregon (No. 7 in College Football Playoff rankings) defeated No. 16 USC (No. 15 in CFP rankings) 42-27 in a game with some College Football Playoff implications.

No. 1 Ohio State (No. 1 in CFP rankings) defeated Rutgers 42-9 without either of its top two receivers in Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate, due to injury. The Buckeyes head into next week's edition of "The Game" against Michigan looking to snap their four-game losing skid against the Wolverines under Ryan Day.

Bryce Underwood kept No. 17 Michigan (No. 18 in CFP rankings) in the mix by leading the Wolverines to a 45-20 win over Maryland on the road, while Northwestern won a thriller at Wrigley Field against Minnesota thanks to a walk-off (pun intended) 53-yard field goal from Jack Olsen.

Penn State picked up its second straight win under interim coach Terry Smith with a 37-10 win over Matt Rhule and Nebraska in Happy Valley. Meanwhile, Indiana and Purdue were both on bye. The Hoosiers and Boilermakers are set for a rivalry week clash in West Lafayette on Black Friday.
