Good things happen when the Eagles beat the Cowboys in Arlington. Can Philadelphia complete the season sweep?

At some point, we have all heard that time heals all wounds. That isn't true about this one. The Dallas Cowboys still stick in the Philadelphia Eagles' craw. Things aren't settling. The angst between these two teams is at an all-time high.

In 2017, the Eagles beat the Cowboys in Arlington at AT&T Stadium en route to their first Super Bowl win. Then, they lost six straight there. In 2024, they broke the losing streak. Then, they won their second Lombardi Trophy.

Had the regular season ended after Week 11, Philadelphia would have claimed the top seed and a first-round bye. Dallas stands in the way of the Eagles maintaining their standing as the NFC's top team. Here's how this game plays out.

Jalen Hurts throws for 300 yards and two scores.

Philadelphia did its best to open the playbook in Week 11. It wasn't pretty. Some of that could have been due to wind and harsh weather.

AT&T Stadium's roof can be opened or closed, creating a dome environment. That eliminates any possibility of bad weather. That helps the guys in Kelly Green. Jalen Hurts tosses two TDs in this one.

Saquon Barkley breaks a 40-yarder and a 20-yard run.

The explosive plays have been far and few in between for Saquon Barkley. That has been heavily discussed. There's really no need to revisit any of that here. That's the bad news. The good news is they play the Cowboys this week.

If anyone will allow explosive plays, it's Dallas. We'll reserve our right to hold off on taking the over on 100 yards rushing, but we could definitely see Barkley breaking two in this one.

Jaelan Phillips registers two tackles for loss and eight pressures.

Jaelan Phillips is that dude. That's it. That's the take. Here's another way to say that. Jaelan Phillips is a beast. We could also say that Jaelan Phillips is 'him'.

He was a jackpot addition. His first sack as an Eagle came in Week 11 vs. the Detroit Lions. His incredible run continues in this one, as he harasses Dak Prescott all afternoon.

He has already proven to be one of the priority signings this offseason. That discussion will amplify after this one.

Jihaad Campbell registers a pass breakup, a tackle-for-loss, and the first sack of his career.

Long ago, 2015 to be exact, we witnessed Jordan Hicks' breakout on the road vs. Dallas. Unfortunately, after racking up seven tackles, a 67-yard pick-six, and a pass breakup, he was injured and lost for the remainder of the season. Ten years later, the new rookie linebacker making waves is Jihaad Campbell.

Please don't panic, Campbell won't leave this one injured, but he will make the impression and deepen himself in the hearts of Eagles fans. There may not be a pick-six, but we're at least assuming he nabs the first sack of his career.

Philadelphia wins by a TD or less. The defense closes this one out with a last-minute stand.

Fingers are crossed for a blowout, but it probably won't happen. What's more likely is what we've seen recently. Lately, these games have ended with the ball in Dak Prescott's hands and the Eagles' defense needing a stop to win.

Expect no substitutes. This one goes down to the wire. We've seen Lamb stopped at the goal line in Week 9 of 2023. We've seen Lamb drop a pass with the game on the line earlier this season. Don't be surprised if Lamb is involved in the final play again, but Philadelphia wins by a TD or less and survives a close one. Final score prediction: Eagles 27 - Cowboys 23
