The Oklahoma Sooners moved to 9-2 on the season with a dominant defensive performance in their 17-6 win over Missouri. The Sooners were once again outgained by their opponent, but picked up another top-25 win to add to their resume.

The vision is clear. Play stout defense, win the special teams and field position battles, and don't turn the ball over on offense. Not only did the Sooners not turn the ball over, but John Mateer threw two touchdown passes. It was his first game with multiple touchdowns since the Week 4 win over Auburn and his first game with multiple touchdown passes since Week 1.

The Sooners' offense still needs work, but with the way the defense is playing, even a slight improvement will give the Sooners a chance to play with just about everyone in the nation. The defense was downright dominant on Saturday against the best rushing offense in the SEC.

Missouri came into the game averaging 241 rushing yards per game, led by the nation's leading rusher, Ahmad Hardy. Oklahoma held Hardy to 17 carries and 57 rushing yards and Missouri to 70 rushing yards as a team.

The Sooners defense recorded two interceptions, four sacks, and eight tackles for loss against the Tigers. It's the defense that Brent Venables promised when he arrived in Norman, and it has Oklahoma one win away from earning a spot in the College Football Playoff.

Here's how social media reacted to the win.
