Nebraska men's basketball (6-0) faced down Kansas State (5-1) for the Hall of Fame Classic championship game on Friday night. In a nail-biting battle, the Huskers delivered the last-second victory 86-85 to clinch the championship.

Sam Hoiberg shot the game-winner for Nebraska with seconds left, landing a free throw to break the 85-85 tie after the Wildcats took the lead multiple times coming out of halftime. The Huskers initially held a 45-35 lead in the first half but lost it within the first three minutes of the second.

Nebraska did outshoot Kansas State on the night, but the Wildcats capitalised on shots from beyond the arc and the free-throw line. The Huskers finished 33-of-61 from the floor, while Kansas State shot 12-of-35 from three-point range and 19-of-22 from the foul line.

Pryce Sandfort led Nebraska with a team-high 21 points, landing 8-of-17 from the floor and 5-of-14 from beyond the arc. Rienk Mast also reached 20 points, shooting 6-of-11 from the floor and a team-high 8-of-10 from the free throw line.

Braden Frager scored 16 points off the bench, finishing 7-of-10 from the floor and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc. He also hauled in six rebounds for the Huskers, while Berke Büyüktuncel led the team with eight. Hoiberg shot a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor to finish with 13 points.

Nebraska now returns home for a four-game stretch, starting with a Tuesday night showdown against Winthrop. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT on the Big Ten Network.
