Indianapolis Colts' running back Jonathan Taylor is putting together an MVP-caliber season.
However, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, "it's crickets" when it comes to contract talks between Taylor and the Colts -- at least for now.

"It makes sense on several levels, including not fraying any nerves when talking about value during what is clearly a special season."
The Colts are taking a similar approach with Daniel Jones.
Taylor signed a three-year, $42 million extension during the 2023 season. He is still under contract through the 2026 season.
Next year, Taylor has a base salary of $11.98 million and a cap hit of $15.56 million.
In terms of average annual contract value, at $14 million per season currently, Taylor ranks fourth among all running backs.

"He (Taylor) still has one year left on his deal in what will be his age 27 season, so an extension that locks him into Indy through his 20s, close to $20 million per year, would seemingly be what the market dictates," added Jones.
