No. 1-seed Vanderbilt eked out a 3-2, double-overtime win over Clemson to reach the Sweet 16 of the NCAA women's soccer tournament and a rematch with LSU.
It marks the second straight appearance for Vanderbilt (17-3-2) in the third round. Vanderbilt hosts LSU on Nov. 24 (2 p.m., ESPN+). LSU defeated Iowa 2-1 to reach the program's first Sweet 16. The Commodores-LSU game is a rematch of the SEC championship game, which Vandy won on penalty kicks on Nov. 9.

Vanderbilt fell behind 1-0 less than a minute until the game before Sydney Watts' goal tied the game in the 55th minutes on a cross from Maci Teater. Mary Beth McLaughlin then gave Vanderbilt the lead, 2-1, on an unassisted goal. Clemson (8-6-5) tied the game on Anna Castenfelt's penalty kick, after a Vanderbilt hand ball, tied the game to put it into overtime.
Vanderbilt's second-round win came after a 2-0 victory over Tennessee Tech on Nov. 14.
