Campfire Cooking in Another World Season 2 Is Dominating Crunchyroll's Charts

One of MAPPA's best underrated anime is unsurprisingly adored by fans as it returns for Fall 2025, racing up the Crunchyroll charts.

Crunchyroll's Fall 2025 season is pulling into its final full month as exciting new anime and returning favorites dazzle the fandom. But one returning isekai gem, while not stealing the thunder of massive hits like Gachiakuta, is still showing a commanding presence on the streaming charts. Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill season 2 is a hit.

Campfire Cooking first landed on Crunchyroll with season 1 on January 11, 2023, introducing fans to a quirky, self-aware isekai premise where its protagonist, Mukouda Tsuyoshi, known in this world as Mukohda, adapts in his own way. Armed with a bizarre online shopping skill allowing him to leverage a versatile chef role, Mukohda's adventures don't slow down in season 2.

While an isekai anime being popular is hardly surprising, it nonetheless is punching above its weight class on the Crunchyroll charts. Campfire Cooking is currently #6 on Crunchyroll's Popular section, while FlixPatrol lists it at #7. While various featured anime like May I Ask for One Final Thing? fluctuate positions, Campfire Cooking is consistent.

This is due to a number of factors: isekai anime is an enticing, almost addictive and saturated genre, often sought-after for its progressively absurd premises. FlixPatrol's next top anime in the world for November 30, 2025 were A Wild Last Boss Appeared! and A Gatherer's Adventure in Isekai, while Crunchyroll's charts highlight The Water Magician as well.

But in Campfire Cooking's case, it also has a built-in appeal in the form of its overt, hilarious product placement thanks to Mukohda's Online Shopping skill. It feels, at times, like Japanese convenience shopping propaganda, but it's amusing to see him use this to barter for custom services like using whisky to get a blacksmith to build him a barbecue.

Every episode is a treat not just for the beautiful food, but for product placement used in various clever applications:

Watching Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill becomes thus a sort of game for longtime viewers, a built-in engagement tactic enabling fans to spot the latest real-world brand. It's amusing, and innately harmless, just like spotting the obvious product placement like Dior or Nespresso products in k-dramas like King the Land.

MAPPA Is Having a Strong Fall 2025

Between Campfire Cooking's modest isekai success and Chainsaw Man's international movie release, MAPPA is enjoying plenty of success. This keeps the prestige of their studio's brand stoked, especially as fans continue to wait both for Jujutsu Kaisen's new movie and, ultimately, season 3.

But Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill is a genuinely fun anime to watch beyond its various gimmicks. Mukohda being able to entice familiars like the gluttonous Fenrir and adorable companions like Dora-chan the Pixie Dragon and Sui the slime. It smartly subverts the usual overpowered protagonist trope, while still giving him a unique edge.

While anime like Gachiakuta are a great success story for new-gen anime topping the charts, and My Hero Academia is close behind, enjoying its swan song, shows like Campfire Cooking demonstrate the sillier side of Crunchyroll. It's an immense catalog, and aside from prompting viewers to do some online shopping, this isekai treat is just pure fun.
