Jackson Burke threw three touchdown passes and Stone Perkins scored two defensive touchdowns to lead the Christian Academy football team to a 48-7 victory over visiting Union County on Friday in the quarterfinals of the Class 3A playoffs.
CAL (13-0) — ranked No. 1 in Class 3A and seeking its fourth straight state title — improved its state-best winning streak to 20.

Burke completed 10 of 10 passes for 159 yards and threw touchdown passes to Ja’Hyde Brown, Gaines Howard and Andrew Greene. Brown finished with seven catches for 102 yards.
Perkins scored back-to-back touchdowns in the third quarter, returning a fumble 36 yards for a score and an interception 44 yards for a touchdown. The latter gave the Centurions a 41-7 lead.
Jeffrey Vazzana led CAL’s rushing attack with 91 yards and two touchdowns on five carries.
Union County finished 7-6.
Kentucky Country Day 37, Newport 6
The host Bearcats (11-1) — ranked No. 4 in Class A — jumped to a 17-0 halftime lead and cruised home for a victory over the Wildcats (8-5).

Campbellsville beat KCD 27-17 on Oct. 24.
Franklin County 42, North Oldham 25
Teagan Crowdus rushed for two touchdowns to lead the host Flyers (13-0) — ranked No. 2 in Class 4A — over the No. 9 Mustangs (10-3).
Delano Collins returned a kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown to give Franklin County a 28-17 lead with 7:59 left in the third quarter.
Franklin County will host the Logan County-Paducah Tilghman winner in a state semifinal.
North Oldham quarterback Colin Daniels passed for 150 yards and rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown. Ronin Renton rushed for 48 yards and a score.

Evan Hampton, a Vanderbilt commit, rushed for a school-record 326 yards and scored five touchdowns as the host Red Devils (11-2) — ranked No. 3 in Class 5A — beat the Bulldogs (8-5).
Owensboro will host Woodford County next week in a state semifinal.
Dy’Metrius Taylor had an 80-yard touchdown run for Fairdale.
