Tonight’s matchup against UNLV at Allegiant Stadium is essentially a knockout game for the loser. Hawaii (7-3, 4-2 Mountain West ) and UNLV (8-2, 4-2 ) are two of the five two-loss teams in conference play, looking up at first-place San Diego State, which suffered its only MWC loss to Hawaii two weeks ago, 38-6.

The Rainbow Warriors and Rebels will meet for the 35th time in a series that began in 1969. UH leads the all-time series, 19-15, however, UNLV holds an 11-6 advantage in games played in Las Vegas.

Hawaii has scored 30 or more points in five straight games, which is the program’s longest such streak since a six-game run spanning the 2010 and 2011 seasons. Over the last five games, the UH offense has averaged 39.0 points, 365.6 passing yards, and 479.6 yards of total offense.
