Beignet Blanc?! Come on, that's genius.

As someone said on X/Twitter recently, "I have a faint feeling that we are on the verge of Muppet resurgence. there’s just something in the air."
For me, the best-case scenario would be a movie like The Muppet Christmas Carol, where one human (Michael Caine) acts alongside a cast of Muppets. In my wildest dreams, that human would be Christine Baranski in a Muppet Mamma Mia! 3, but right now I have a more timely proposition.

7 new movies and TV shows to stream on Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max and more this weekend (November 7)
It's not just me who wants this. A quick social media search will show scores of fans manifesting the same thing – and in a roundabout way, Netflix and director Rian Johnson have given this to us, by giving Knives Out the Sesame Street treatment.
Today's best Netflix dealsNetflix's new deal with Sesame Street gives us a Knives Out mystery – but something's off

Daniel Craig gets a muppet makeover as Beignet Blanc in 'Forks Out' (come on, that's genius) in a new Sesame Street skit, in which Blanc must solve the mystery of who ate the Cookie Monster's pie.
It's supposed to be just a cute bit for the kids TV show, but it's quickly gone viral with kidults online too. For many, this will likely be enough to satisfy their Knives Out/Sesame Street crossover craving. However, I think it could be just the beginning.

The above interview with Johnson might make you think otherwise. When Yahoo! asked the director about potentially making a Muppets Knives Out movie, Johnson replied, "I love the Muppets movies so much that it's the reason why I don't think I could ever do that. It's its own thing and is very different from a Benoit Blanc mystery."

Absolutely not. I completely disagree with Johnson's take as it is – on the contrary, I think the Muppets are the perfect IP for a crossover. Imagine Miss Piggy putting the world to rights while whispering seductively in Benoit Blanc’s ear, trying to convince him she hasn't committed murder. Talk about cinematic magic.
Netflix execs can’t have failed to notice the social media numbers for the Beignet Blanc clip, and I’m sure they’re as enthusiastic as I am for Johnson to take some creative risks. Again, I'm begging everyone involved: commit to a Benoit Blanc-Muppets mash-up in feature-length form, please.
