Thanks to the popularity of Spotify Wrapped, users have been asking for a YouTube version for years.
Now YouTube has announced its first-ever YouTube Recap, a year-end roundup built from your watch history that is designed to reflect the many lanes you bounced between over the past 12 months.
What Is YouTube Recap 2025?
YouTube Recap is a new, personalized year-end feature that highlights your top channels, interests, and the moments you explored this year—based on what you actually watched. The Recap experience is presented as a set of up to 12 shareable cards, including callouts such as:
- Your top channels and interests
- "Deep dives" you went on this year
- How your viewing habits evolved over time
- A personality-style label based on the videos you watched

YouTube Recap is available, starting from December 2 in North America, with a global rollout happening throughout the week.
If you are searching "how to find my YouTube Recap," then look no further. There are two main places:
- On the YouTube homepage
- Under the "You" tab (on mobile and desktop)

- It is rolling out by region (North America first, then worldwide over the week)
- It is tied to your watch history, so your settings may matter if history is paused or limited
- You may need to check both the homepage and the You tab across mobile or desktop
YouTube Music Users Get Extra Stats
Recap also includes a music layer—especially for people who use YouTube as their main music player.
The Recap will include your top artists and songs for 2025, and for those who want to dig deeper, the YouTube Music app includes more highlights such as top genres and podcasts.
...The 'Personality Type' Twist
YouTube Recap is not just providing trends, it also assigns viewers with personalities based on what you watched this year.
Personality types include the adventurer, skill builder, creative spirit, sunshiner, wonder seeker and dreamer.
Once users have unlocked their YouTube Recap, the series of cards can be shared with friends and family across social media.
Other Tech Recaps
YouTube and Spotify are not the only companies to provide a year-in-review for customers.
Other examples include Apple Music’s Replay and Amazon Music’s Year in Review.
In gaming, Steam offer a Steam Replay, while Xbox do their own year in review. Even Reddit and Duolingo have their own recaps of the year for users.
