TEXARKANA, TX (KTAL/KMSS) — Liberty-Eylau boys basketball is coming off one of their best seasons in recent years and are hoping to carry that momentum into the 2025-2026 season.
The same energy and drive was on display in Tuesday’s game against Sulphur Springs.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIt was a slow start through the first quarter, but Sulphur Springs was able to get into a rhythm and get out to a big lead first. The Leopards were down 16-8, and 12 unanswered points later they were able to get on top, with a 28-24 lead going into the break.
The Wildcats wouldn’t let the Leopards have an easy win. With four minutes left in the game, Sulphur Springs took back the lead forcing all the Leopards efforts until the final seconds.
Liberty-Eylau pulled off the 58-52 win in the final moments of the game.
Leading scorers for the Leopards were Shawn Hall with 25 points, Tyris Crowell with 11, and Devon Hall-Clark with 10.
