The NFL seemed to take that fact into account with its latest schedule change.
The Eagles were scheduled to face off against the division-rival Washington Commanders in a primetime Saturday night matchup on Dec. 20. But on Tuesday, the NFL announced its decision to move this contest to 5 p.m. ET on the same day.
In a corresponding move, the NFL flexed the Dec. 20 matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears into the primetime Week 16 slot.
"Flex: the Dec. 20 Week 16 Packers-Bears game has been moved into 8:20 pm ET slot. Eagles-Commanders now will be played that day at 5pm ET," ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported.

The Eagles are 8-4 on the 2025 season, losing each of their last two games against the Cowboys and Bears. That being said, the Philadelphia squad still holds No. 1 position in the NFC East standings heading into the final stretch of the year.
The Commanders are in the midst of a disappointing campaign following their trip to the NFC Championship game last season. Despite entering the year with Super Bowl aspirations, the Washington franchise has lost each of its last seven games en route to a 3-9 record.

This Packers-Bears matchup has far more intrigue at this point in the season.
Led by first-year head coach Ben Johnson and second-year quarterback Caleb Williams, the Bears hold No. 1 position in the NFC North standings with a 9-3 record. The Packers trail Chicago by just one half game in the division standings, boasting an 8-3-1 record.
While the Eagles have been removed from primetime in Week 16, they're still scheduled for a "Monday Night Football" matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14.
