After falling to the Los Angeles Dodgers in heartbreaking fashion, it's clear that the Toronto Blue Jays are determined to make it back to the World Series, this time winning the title.

They've shown that determination so far this offseason, by making the biggest signing to date. Toronto added San Diego Padres star Dylan Cease on a seven-year $210 million contract.

That said, they might not stop there. According to Blue Jays insider Ben Nicholson-Smith, Toronto has continued to monitor the starting pitching market even after signing Cease. As it stands, the Blue Jays have a projected rotation of Kevin Gausman, Cease, Trey Yesavage, as well as Shane Bieber and Jose Berrios.

However, they could make a trade for another arm. At the trade deadline, they were rumored to be interested in Joe Ryan of the Minnesota Twins and Mackenzie Gore of the Washington Nationals. As far as other free agent additions are concerned, Nicholson-Smith reported that Cease's teammate Michael King could be a name to watch out for.

With the possibility of losing Chris Bassitt and Max Scherzer in free agency, Toronto would be smart to load up on arms. Additionally, Toronto was without Berrios in the postseason due to injury. Nevertheless, retaining Bo Bichette should be Toronto's major concern in the free agent market.

Either way, expect the Blue Jays to be aggressive this offseason as they gear up for another deep playoff run in the 2026 season.
