Despite this season being marked as a down year for the Boston Celtics, there have already been plenty of bright spots.

Payton Pritchard has stepped up in his new starting role, Jaylen Brown continues to have a career year, and Neemias Queta has provided much more as a center than anyone could have asked for.

The team is trying to decide whether Jayson Tatum comes back or not. Their roster isn’t as deep and talented as years before, but that clearly isn’t stopping them.

If they want to go all in, Will Eudy of Fansided drew up a perfect idea to land the Celtics a historic center to help them round out their rotation.

“It's no secret that Boston has been lacking when it comes to the center position this season," Eudy said Tuesday They've found some ways to make things work given their personnel, but no one in their right mind would say they're in a position to be content and not make any forward moves.

“Brook Lopez would be a tremendous help to this group with his interior defense and shooting prowess. He would replace a lot of the same skill Porzingis and Horford brought to this roster, and make the Celtics a much more viable team in a postseason setting.”

Brook Lopez of the Los Angeles Clippers should be on the Celtics’ radar.

He is the all-time leading scorer for the Brooklyn Nets and would serve as a perfect rotation piece for Boston.

Lopez has redefined his career and turned himself into one of the best stretch-bigs in the game. He is making just $9 million a year and is under contract for two years.

The Celtics could continue to start Queta to help him develop his game and gain more experience, but Lopez would be the perfect backup and mentor.

Los Angeles could shed his salary at the deadline, and the Celtics should be a team to show interest in him. He could have a trial year this season, then have chemistry with the team as Tatum returns next year.

Despite his old age, he could be the missing piece to a stacked Celtics roster.
