The Indianapolis Colts announced on Tuesday that they have waived kicker Michael Badgley.

At this time, no corresponding move has been announced, but it was reported that the Colts did have several kickers in for tryouts.

In the Colts' Week 13 loss to Houston, Badgley missed an extra point attempt. While that miss wasn't the only reason the Colts lost, that missed point proved to be crucial late in the game.

With the Colts down by four points in the final minutes of the game and at the Texans' 31-yard line, rather than being able to attempt the game-tying field goal, Indianapolis instead had to go for it on 4th-and-9.

They failed to convert, and the game was effectively over.

That kick was Badgley's third missed extra point of the season for Badgley. Over the Colts' last three games, he has missed two extra point tries and one field goal.

"If we're looking at the situation in Week 14, we're looking for somebody that's experienced, that we know can handle pressure, that we know can be consistent to be able to make kicks within games," said special teams coordinator Brian Mason on Tuesday, via Colts.com.

On the year, Badgley is 17-for-20 on extra points and 10-for-11 on field goals.

The Colts signed Badgley early in the season after Spencer Shrader was placed on injured reserve.
