The first NET rankings of the 2025-26 college basketball season are out, and the Michigan Wolverines came in ranked No. 1 for the first time after a torrid streak of blowouts in Las Vegas last week. But what would the coaches across the sport think of the maize and blue after the dominant 7-0 start?
Michigan basketball did move up in the latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, but not all the way up to No. 1. The Wolverines were No. 6 last week but come in this week at No. 2, behind No. 1 Purdue. Other ranked Big Ten teams include No. 8 Michigan State, No. 15 Illinois, No. 19 Indiana, and No. 25 Iowa. The Wolverines also play No. 4 Duke this season.
