Fernando Mendoza is one of the leading candidates to lift this year's Heisman Trophy after leading the No. 2 Indiana Hoosiers through an impressive, undefeated regular-season campaign.
Mendoza finished the regular season with 2,758 yards and a Big Ten-leading 32 touchdowns, completing 72% of his pass attempts. The junior quarterback also accounted for 243 yards and six touchdowns in the rushing game.
As the 12-0 Hoosiers prepare for their highly anticipated Big Ten Championship matchup against the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes, Mendoza shared an exciting off-field announcement on Monday.
Mendoza is the latest athlete to join Adidas' NIL class.
"Statement maker. Welcome to the three stripes, @fernando.mend0za," the sports apparel brand wrote in joint Instagram post with Mendoza.

More Football: Ohio State Predicted to Face Historic Program in CFP Rematch
Mendoza is currently the odds favorite to win the Heisman Trophy, leading Ohio State QB Julian Sayin and Vanderbilt signal caller Diego Pavia.
"Fernando never ceases to amaze me," Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti said earlier this month. "He's so deep. He's so intelligent. He's such a good and caring, giving person. He's an A++ every single interview. He'll be a huge success in anything he decides to do one day when football ends. He's just a special, unique person. And it's all real."

Mendoza and his team will face off against the reigning national champion Buckeyes in a Big Ten Championship matchup on Dec 6. A win for Indiana would mark the program's first conference title since 1967 and no doubt earn the Hoosiers No. 1 position in the final College Football Playoff rankings.
