By Andrew RavensShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberKiller Kross and Scarlett made a surprise return to WWE in August 2022, immediately inserting themselves into the main event picture. The segment saw Kross attack Drew McIntyre, then stare down Roman Reigns as he delivered his signature "Tick Tock" gesture. Scarlett placed an hourglass in front of The Bloodline, signaling that Kross had his sights set on the top prize in the company.
Many WWE fans believed this moment would eventually lead to a high-profile match between Kross and Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The imagery of the hourglass and the confrontation suggested a long-term storyline was in motion.
However, the match never happened, and the interaction was dropped mainly from WWE television. Reigns went on to face McIntyre at "Clash at the Castle" in Cardiff, Wales, while Kross entered a feud with McIntyre that did not involve the title.
Speaking on Scaredy Cast, Kross said he still wants to face Reigns and revealed that WWE actually had significant plans for him upon his return. He noted that the original concept involved him entering the title picture immediately alongside the two top stars of the brand.
"I would have liked to have paid off the match with Roman Reigns. I had heard a few different variations of what was supposed to happen with that. One of the variations was a potential triple threat between me, Drew, and Roman when we first came back," Kross said.

However, creative plans shifted rapidly following his return. Kross explained that the return of another individual to the company influenced the creative direction, which effectively ended the storyline with Reigns before it could truly begin.
"But somebody else came back to the company and got involved with creative shortly after us and completely killed that and then drove Drew off a cliff," Kross said.
While the specific identity of the person who influenced creative was not explicitly named by Kross in this clip, the timing coincides with several major shifts in WWE leadership and roster returns during late 2022. Currently, Kross leads The Final Testament faction on Raw, while Roman Reigns recently reunited with the original Bloodline to battle Solo Sikoa's faction at "Survivor Series: WarGames."
