Tennessee volleyball will compete in the NCAA Tournament for a fifth consecutive season.
No. 7 seed Tennessee (20-7) will open tournament play on Thursday against Utah State (23-7) in a regional hosted by Arizona State.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementFirst serve is slated for 6:30 p.m. EST in Tempe, Arizona. The Sun Devils (26-3) are a No. 2 seed in the region after winning a Big 12 championship with a, 3-1, victory over West Virginia. Arizona State will play Coppin State (23-11) at 9 p.m. EST on Thursday.
First-round winners will play Friday.
Tennessee will play in its 20th NCAA Tournament all time. The Lady Vols advanced to the NCAA Tournament for a sixth time under head coach Eve Rackham Watt.
Tennessee was a No. 4 seed in the SEC Tournament. The Lady Vols advanced to the semifinals before being eliminated by Kentucky. Utah State won both the Mountain West regular-season title and tournament championship.
