When one looks at the box score of Thursday's 123-114 overtime win over the Milwaukee Bucks, one will see Justin Edwards had a tough night as he shot just 3-for-10 overall and 1-for-7 from deep.

However, Edwards stepped up in a big way for the Philadelphia 76ers on the defensive end as he finished with two steals and made the Bucks uncomfortable all night. He then stepped up with a triple to start overtime and he had a strong finish in the paint for a bucket. He gave the Sixers a big lift as he continues to stay ready for Philadelphia.

Coach Nick Nurse has been highly complimentary of Edwards all season even through some ups and downs. That didn't change after the win over the Bucks as he made sure the second-year forward got the love and credit he deserves.

"He was really working hard," Nurse told reporters about Edwards. "You hear me say this as a broken record. He's going to try on every possession, gonna make some plays on defense, and he's a really good shooter. I know he had a bunch of opportunities. He couldn't throw one in tonight, but he made one when it counted."

The fact that Edwards was able to stay ready and give the Sixers some big hoops when it counted is a testament to him staying ready and preparing to help no matter the situation. They will need him to take steps forward as he grows as a player, but he has been impressive defensively in the time being.
