The Atlanta Falcons netted their eighth loss of the season on Sunday, falling 27-24 to the New York Jets on the road. The team is clearly reeling, having won just two games over the last two months combined. With five games left, Atlanta has little to play for other than pride.
While the Falcons did a lot right against the Jets, there were some major blunders in big moments that gave New York the edge in the end. Here are the studs and duds from Week 13.

Bijan Robinson is not of this world. If the Falcons were in any sort of position to be in the playoffs, Robinson would be mentioned in the MVP discussion. Against the Jets, Robinson accounted for 142 yards on the ground while adding another 51 yards as a receiver. He also scored a touchdown that gave the Falcons a temporary lead. It's a shame that Robinson won't get to show what he can do in the postseason.
Dud: Returner Jamal Agnew
Agnew's muffed punt in the first quarter gifted the Jets with an easy touchdown along with the momentum early on. Without that one play, the Jets likely would have gone scoreless in the first half. Instead, the Falcons had to overcome a seven-point deficit and this team just hasn't proven capable of overcoming adversity this season.

Kyle Pitts is doing the most with what he's been given. Against the Jets, he put on one of his best performances of the season, leading the team with seven receptions and 82 yards. With Pitts currently playing on a fifth-year option, he's making a case to stick around beyond 2025.
Dud: Falcons special teams unit
While Agnew was directly responsible for seven of the Jets' points, the coverage team also played a vital part in allowing New York to hang around. Every time the Falcons had some momentum, they seemed to make another special teams blunder. Kicker Zane Gonzalez missed a field goal, and the Falcons gave up a few huge returns at the worst possible times.

Pearce notched another sack against the Jets, bringing his total to five for the season. The rookie edge rusher has recorded a sack in four consecutive weeks and appears to have a promising future in Atlanta. It's somewhat hard to believe that the Falcons have two rookie edge rushers playing at such a high level. Unfortunately, this success hasn't translated into wins this season.
Duds: Falcons coaching staff and owner
At this point, it seems inevitable that there will be coaching changes after the season. The last time the Falcons made the playoffs was during the 2017 season, which was also the last year that the Panthers made the postseason. Since that time, Atlanta has been better than Carolina in almost every season and have now been surpassed by the Panthers without anything to show for the last eight years.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementFor as much as this season is on the coaching staff, it's also on Falcons owner Arthur Blank for allowing things to get to this point. The Falcons went all in for the playoffs, and despite the promising play of the team's young stars, the future is somehow even less clear than it has been in recent memory.
