PITTSBURGH – Aaron Rodgers’ Nov. 30 return to action came to an abrupt interruption early in the second half when the Steelers quarterback was knocked out of the game with an undisclosed injury.

The Pittsburgh QB missed the previous week’s loss at Chicago due to a wrist injury, yet the team didn’t immediately reveal the nature or extent of the setback that sent Rodgers to the blue medical tent. The CBS broadcast of the Steelers' game against the Buffalo Bills reported that Rodgers was treated for a gash on his nose.

Rodgers, 41, missed one series before returning.

On the opening drive after halftime, Rodgers was flattened on a punishing blow by Joey Bosa, coughing up a fumble that was returned 17 yards by Christian Benford for a touchdown that gave the Bills a 10-7 lead.

Mason Rudolph replaced Rodgers and was intercepted by Benford, setting up Josh Allen’s 1-yard TD pass to Keon Coleman that extended the lead to 16-7 with 8:49 remaining in the third quarter.

After that, Rodgers made his way back on the field.
