The Georgia Bulldogs (11-1, 7-1 in SEC) are a lock to make the College Football Playoff after an ugly 16-9 win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The game was a rough watch, full of stalled out drives, interceptions, sacks, and punts. In a rivalry like Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate, the anger was palpable.

Georgia had a 13-3 lead by halftime, so they only scored three points in the second half. Gunner Stockton had his worst game as Georgia's starting quarterback, completing 11 of 21 passes for just 70 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. The running game led the way offensively, with Nate Frazier rushing for 108 yards on 16 carries.

The Bulldog defense allowed just 250 yards, including just 69 on the ground. Overall, the Bulldogs felt like they won by the skin of their teeth, but with Texas A&M's loss to Texas on Friday, the Georgia Bulldogs clinch their fifth straight SEC championship berth. They will face the Alabama Crimson Tide, with a potential first round bye on the line.

Nate Frazier is turning a corner

Georgia's offense struggled mightily in this game except for one person: Nate Frazier. The sophomore running back had 108 yards on 16 carries, and he masked a rough day from Gunner Stockton.

Frazier finished his regular season with 809 yards and six total touchdowns. However, 460 of those yards have come from the month of November. He also scored three of his six total touchdowns in November, and he's averaged 4.5 yards per carry or more in each of the last four games.

If it weren't for Chancey Bowens shining at the beginning of the season, Frazier could've had 1,000 rushing yards in the regular season. He still has a chance to achieve that for Georgia, and he would be the first Georgia running back to have 1,000 since D'Andre Swift in 2019.

Ellis Robinson IV is making strides

Cornerback Ellis Robinson IV had a lot of potential entering the season. When he committed to the Georgia Bulldogs in 2024, he was the No. 1 defensive commit in Georgia Bulldogs history, according to 247Sports. After he redshirted in year 1, Robinson IV has been a lot more involved this year.

The results have been mixed, but Robinson IV has shown his incredible promise a few times. When Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King tried to take a shot downfield in the third quarter, Robinson IV made an incredible interception. He now leads the Bulldogs in interception with four.

Robinson IV has shown great strides in just his freshman season. If he can keep this up, there's no doubt Robinson IV will evolve into Georgia's no. 1 corner.

Georgia's work is far from done

With the win against Georgia Tech, the Bulldogs have locked up a College Football Playoff spot and a home playoff game. However, the work is far from done.

They still have to play the hated Alabama Crimson Tide (10-2, 7-1 in SEC) in the SEC championship. There's a lot on the line for Georgia. If the Bulldogs win, they'll certainly clinch a first-round bye in the playoff. That helps in terms of player rest and recovery, especially with Chauncey Bowens and Drew Bobo battling injuries. Not to mention, Kirby Smart overcomes his demons against Alabama (Smart is 1-7 against the Crimson Tide).

If Georgia loses, they'll still be in the playoff, hosting a playoff game, but they might have to play a higher seeded team due to the glut of 11-1 teams (Texas A&M, Oregon, Ole Miss) that didn't make their championship.

The SEC championship game will be at 4:00 p.m. ET at Mercedes-Benz. Georgia just played Georgia Tech in Mercedes Benz, so the familiar location could help foster a home-field advantage for the Bulldogs. They still need to get the job done.
