Shedeur Sanders will start for Browns next week vs Cam Ward, Titans

Shedeur Sanders will remain the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns in next week's game against the Tennessee Titans, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said after Cleveland's game on Nov. 30.

Sanders, the fifth-round rookie out of Colorado whose drop in April's NFL Draft was the storyline of that weekend, made his second start for the Browns in a 26-8 loss to San Francisco. He was 16-of-25 for 149 yards and a touchdown, adding 6 rushing yards.

"Obviously, he's battling like all of our guys are battling," Stefanski said about Sanders' performance against the 49ers. "I know there are plays he wants back, but we'll look at it and we'll correct it."

The son of Colorado coach and Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders won in his first NFL start on Nov. 23, a 24-10 victory against the Raiders. He replaced Dillon Gabriel, a fellow rookie who struggled in six starts midseason before being knocked out of a game against the Ravens on Nov. 16.

The game will pit No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward and Sanders in an intriguing matchup of rookie passers late in lost seasons for both franchises.

Tennessee (1-11) and Cleveland (3-9) will play on Dec. 7, a noon CT kickoff in northeast Ohio.
