The New England Patriots and New York Giants are set to battle on Monday Night Football, with the Patriots looking to continue their reign atop the AFC. One of the biggest needs for the Patriots this season has been at edge rusher, which means Giants defensive end Brian Burns would make sense for this week's "Gimme Him" player.
Burns, a two-time Pro Bowler, is one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. He has 54 tackles, 13 sacks and two forced fumbles on the season. Those numbers are in line with his 2022 Pro Bowl season with the Carolina Panthers, when he recorded 63 tackles and 12.5 sacks.

It doesn't help that they're playing without their star defensive tackle, Milton Williams, who excelled at generating pressure up the middle.
The addition of a true game disruptor, like Burns, would take the defense to another level. It will likely be something the team focuses on attaining in the offseason, either through free agency or the 2026 NFL draft.
A true No. 1 edge rusher is the one missing piece that would potentially put the defense over the top. The Giants are clearly happy with Burns, and the Patriots will have their hands full in trying to keep him away from quarterback Drake Maye with an injury-riddled offensive line.
