Following South Carolina’s 28-14 loss to rival Clemson on Saturday, Gamecocks quarterback LaNorris Sellers sidestepped questions on whether his future remains in Columbia or shifts to the NFL.

Sellers, who has two years of eligibility left, is draft-eligible as a redshirt sophomore. He said his decision will come later.

“I mean, when the decision comes to make a decision, when time comes to make a decision, I’ll make the decision that works best for me,” Sellers said Saturday.

Despite the defeat, he delivered one of the best passing days of his career, finishing 23-of-42 for 381 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. However, his 2025 season fell below expectations. Sellers entered the year as a preseason Heisman Trophy favorite after a breakout 2024 campaign in which he threw for 2,534 yards and 18 TDs, helping South Carolina nearly reach the CFP.

This season was not as productive. He threw for 2,437 yards, 14 TDs and eight interceptions, managing only two 300-yard games. He posted 300-plus against Missouri and Clemson, but hit the mark once in eight SEC games as the Gamecocks were 1-7 in league play.

Coach Shane Beamer said he’s had ongoing NFL conversations with players but declined projecting the 2026 roster. Seller downplayed speculation, including potential transfer chatter.
