Michigan State football is finishing up their 2025 season against Maryland inside of Ford Field on Saturday night. The Spartans will be playing that game without their veteran center, Matt Gulbin.

Gulbin was ruled out due to injury ahead of the game, it was never disclosed what the injury was. With the center's absence, that means a new Spartan will have to step up.

The Spartan tabbed with stepping up in this game, and taking the starting center roll, is Cooper Terpstra.

Terpstra, a native of Holland (MI) and West Ottawa High School, walked-on to the Spartans team as a part of the 2023 recruiting class. A 6-foot-4, 315 pound offensive lineman, he has played predominately on special teams.

He does have some center experience in college, playing played 36 snaps at center in two games against Prairie View A&M and Ohio State last year.

Let's see if Terpstra can put some good film out there for a potential role next year.
