The Baltimore Ravens' lack of pass protection is no laughing matter. But at least Lamar Jackson, the man who feels the pain from that deficiency in pass pro, can joke about it.

After practice yesterday, it was pointed out to Jackson that he's been sacked 23 times this season, equaling his total from all of 2024.

“Goddamn," he responded. "Gotta talk to the offensive line about that…Imma holler at my guys about that. Talk to my guys about that.”

This stat is even more eye-popping when you consider that Jackson has played only seven games this season. Maybe the Ravens should use more max-protect formations? I don't know, as Max Protect has not been showing up to games lately (If Lamar can joke about this, then so can we).

Jackson is just as quick and elusive as ever, so why has he been sacked more than groceries this season? (our last joke, we swear). It goes without saying that the big boys up front are just not playing as well in 2025 as they did last season- that's painfully obvious.

Also, two of the first ten games were against Myles Garrett, hands down the most terrific pure pass rusher in the game today.

However, there is something else going on here, and it's easily fixable. Todd Monken's play-calling is enabling this problem. The Ravens' offensive coordinator often gets a little too cute with some of these calls, and it's getting Ravens QBs crushed. In addition to the 23 sacks on Jackson, there have been seven more allowed on Cooper Rush and Snoop Huntley.

That brings the total to 30, and that is simply unacceptable.
