Nov. 28—MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. — Lindenwood got the better of the Bemidji State women's hockey team on Friday.

The Lions scored three goals in each of the first and third periods, beating the Beavers 7-4 in the series opener.

Josey Dunne-Weeks, Lucie Quarto and Michaela Paulinyova scored for the Lions in the first period, with Paulinyova's coming on the power play. Molly Henderson, Paige Cline and Paulinyova scored in the third period, with a goal from Pusle Dyring-Andersen sandwiched in the middle.

Talya Hendrickson and Autumn Cooper each scored for BSU. Hailey Armstrong added two goals, one late in the second period and another midway through the third.

Ava Hills got the start in net for Bemidji State (4-10-1) and surrendered three goals on nine shots. Kaitlin Groess entered the game in relief and made 21 saves on 24 shots.

Lindenwood (5-13-1) goalie Lexington Secreto made 28 saves.
