Michael B Jordan has made a name for himself with movies like the Creed franchise, Black Panther franchise, and even this year’s Sinners. The actor has an amazing range on display, easily metamorphosing into a boxer, a superhero villain, to a dual role in a period piece. In his impressive career, Jordan has delved into every genre, and one of his legal dramas is making waves on streaming five years after its initial release.

Just Mercy has found its way to Netflix’s global top 10 charts, as per Flixpatrol. The film is a biographical legal drama directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings fame director Daniel Destin Cretton and stars Brie Larson, Jamie Foxx, alongside Jordan. It has some impeccable performances, garnering an 85% Rotten Tomatoes score from critics and a near-perfect 99% from the audience. Based on defense attorney Bryan Stevenson’s memoir, the movie follows a young Bryan (Jordan) after graduating from Harvard as he heads to Alabama to defend those wrongly condemned or those not afforded proper representation. Among his first cases is that of Walter McMillian (Foxx), who was sentenced to die in 1987 for the murder of an 18-year-old girl, despite evidence proving his innocence. As Bryan works tirelessly towards saving McMillian's life, he encounters racism and legal and political maneuverings.

Where Will We See Michael B. Jordan Next?

Plenty of places. The actor is booked and busy keeping his fans entertained. Jordan is expected to return soon as Adonis Creed in Creed IV. It was recently revealed that he’ll be part of Joseph Kosinski’s Miami Vice remake as Ricardo Tubbs, starring alongside Austin Butler. Furthermore, he’s also set to appear in Will Smith’s I Am Legend 2. Smith previously teased:

"What we were gonna do was the prequel, so we were gonna do the prequel. … And [Akiva Goldsman] was like, but wait, what if we make a new version from the alternate ending, where your character is still alive and, you know, Michael B. Jordan’s character currently is the head of a new settlement... He’s not my son... So there’s a settlement in Connecticut."

While we wait for Jordan’s next film, Just Mercy is streaming on Netflix. You can check out the trailer above and stay tuned to Collider for more such updates.
