It's almost time for Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2, as a dangerous, sea-faring quest presents terrifying new foes and mythological mysteries. Percy Jackson season 2 is based on the second book in Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series, Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters, and sees Walker Scobell, Leah Sava' Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri reprising their roles as Camp Half-Blood's heroic trio.
In the Sea of Monsters, Percy (Scobell), Annabeth (Jeffries), and Percy's surprising half-brother, a baby cyclops named Tyson (Daniel Diemer), embark on an unsanctioned quest to save Grover (Simhadri) and secure Camp Half-Blood's future by obtaining the healing Golden Fleece from a terrifying grown-up cyclops known as Polyphemus (Aleks Paunovic).
Polyphemus isn't the sole big bad to be terrified of in Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2, as Percy and his fellow demigods will face all manner of dangerous myths and monsters during their adventures, including the wickedly enticing, highly anticipated sirens and other hulking giants. Check out the exclusive posters featuring Percy and Co.'s monstrous adversaries below and read on to find out more about the upcoming season:
As the posters prove, Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 promises to be a bigger and more action-packed affair, as Percy's friends, frenemies, and enemies are given quests of their own, too. While the books are written from Percy's limited (and potentially unreliable) first-person point of view, this season of Percy Jackson includes several additional perspectives.
Season 2 will show the audience how and why Grover ended up in Polyphemus' clutches during his continued search for the Greek god Pan, Clarisse's (Dior Goodjohn) sanctioned expedition to obtain the Golden Fleece — she gets to sail a giant warship populated by ghostly soldiers, courtesy of her war-god father Ares — and Luke's (Charlie Bushnell) experiences as a traitor to Camp Half-Blood.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 will consist of eight episodes, each titled using one of Riordan's famous and hilarious chapter headings, including "I Play Dodgeball with Cannibals" (episode 1), "Clarisse Blows Up Everything" (episode 4), and "We Check In to C.C.'s Spa & Resort" (episode 5). The upcoming season will also introduce several new characters alongside Diemer's Tyson, including:
- Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus (Tamara Smart)
- Annabeth's mother, the goddess Athena (Andra Day)
- The iconic and chaotic Gray Sisters (Sandra Bernhard, Kristen Schaal, and Margaret Cho)
Additionally, Courtney B. Vance will be reintroduced as the King of Olympus, Zeus, taking over the role from the late Lance Reddick.
Will Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson be able to outsmart the cyclopes, giants, and Sirens they encounter? Will Clarisse survive the Bermuda Triangle? Will Luke's devious plans pan out? Find out when Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 returns next month.
The first two episodes of Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 premiere exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu on December 10, with new episodes releasing weekly on Wednesdays.
