After nine long years, fans of the ridiculously popular isekai series Saga of Tanya the Evil finally have something big to rejoice about, as its long-awaited second season has just unveiled its new teaser visual and promotional video. Reasonably so, the teasers have reignited fans' excitement for the anime.
Earlier this year, one of the animators working for studio NUT accidentally revealed that the anime would return in 2026. And as stated, Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 is set to premiere in 2026. Additionally, the anime revealed its new director, Takayuki Yamamoto.
Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 Unveils 2026 Debut
On Friday, November 28, Kadokawa Anime revealed a new teaser visual and promotional video for Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2. According to the teasers, the anime's second season will premiere in 2026.
The teaser visual solely focuses on the protagonist, Tanya von Degurechaff, as she could be seen playing a piano while sitting in a room engulfed in flames. While the fire could be a result of an enemy attack, Tanya can be seen with a menacing, fearless expression.
As for the teaser promotional video, it opens with a flashback of "Being X" blocking Tanya's path in the first season. While the Empire was winning each of its battles, Tanya was unsatisfied as she wished to exit the battlefield to live a peaceful life. As such, she seemed prepared to end the war by any means necessary.
All episodes of Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 1 will be available to watch for free on ABEMA, starting November 29, 8 PM JST.
Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 Reveals Staff and Cast Members

As revealed by the teaser promotional video, Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 will be directed by Takayuki Yamamoto, who will replace the Season 1 director Yutaka Uemara at studio NUT. Takayuki Yamamoto previously worked as an Episode Director for My Hero Academia Seasons 2 and 5.

"I am extremely honored to be involved in the production of Saga of Tanya the Evil. We are currently working hard with the wonderful staff, so please wait a little longer!"

Joining the Director are Kenta Ihara and Yuji Hosogoe, who are reprising their staff roles from the first season. Kenta Ihara is in charge of the script and series composition, while Yuji Hosogoe is the character designer and chief animation director.
In addition, the anime confirmed its returning cast. They are as follows:
- Aoi Yuuki as Tanya von Degurechaff
- Saori Hayami as Viktoriya Ivanovna Serebryakova
- Shinichiro Miki as Erich von Lergen
- Tesshou Genda as Kurt von Rudersdorf
- Houchuu Ootsuka as Hans von Zettour
While the anime has yet to reveal a proper release window or full trailer, Kadokawa will likely reveal the same in the near future.
