Vince Gilligan has addressed whether characters from the Breaking Bad universe might ever show up in his new series Pluribus. Already starring Better Call Saul's Rhea Seehorn, Pluribus follows Carol, who passionately resists a new paradigm when a mysterious transmission from space takes over the minds of nearly everyone else on the planet, making them docile and happy.
Pluribus is an entirely different genre from the crime saga of Breaking Bad, which never delves into any supernatural or sci-fi concepts. Pluribus, in contrast, hinges on something extraterrestrial acting in a seemingly impossible way. However, the new series is set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Carol's home is, though she travels to other locations.
As Breaking Bad and later Better Call Saul both take place in this city, Pluribus feels even more like a spiritual successor to Gilligan's career-defining franchise, even though it is evidently an entirely separate story. Even so, in a recent interview on The Rich Eisen Show, Gilligan appeared open to including some of the Breaking Bad actors, maybe as a version of their old characters, in Pluribus.

Pointing out the shared setting with Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Eisen asked, "Is there any possibility that we run into any survivors of those shows in Pluribus? Where they're part of the hive [...]." Gilligan responded: "We might have some cameos. I don't know if it's...a little, we might have a few Easter eggs to throw your way. But I actually was resistant about setting it in Albuquerque."
The production did happen there because Gilligan loves working with a specific crew. "But I kinda resisted [having the in-story setting be Albuquerque] because I thought it would confuse people." Gilligan does apparently want Pluribus to be its own project, but could potentially feature some of his old collaborators, playing a character that alludes to their Breaking Bad role without affecting the new story.
If such a cameo wanted to suggest that it is at least possible for Carol to run across that character because they are still alive as of the end of the Breaking Bad franchise, the survivors include Seehorn's own Kim Wexler, Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), Skyler White (Anna Gunn), and Marie Schrader (Betsy Brandt). Presumably, they are all a part of the new hive mind of this peaceful world.

Additionally, some of the Breaking Bad cast members already featured in a Pluribus trailer, as some of the people who appear on television and tell Carol they only want to make her happy. Included in this teaser are Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Jonathan Banks, and Giancarlo Esposito (whose characters are all dead or far away from Albuquerque in the Breaking Bad universe).
If actors or other Easter eggs from Breaking Bad make their way into Pluribus, it will probably be in such a way that the new show isn't beholden to the story of its predecessor. However, it still could be a thrilling inclusion for Gilligan's biggest fans.
